My neighborhood supermarket! After growing up in Bklyn with an A&P and using the same store for years and years ,this S&S comes close in it's ways. Good people , good prices ,fresh food.
I went there for milk a while back and found that many of the containers were dented and had dirt and grease and mud all over them. As if they had been run over while being off loaded. Who would allow those containers to be put on the shelf? Some were worse than others, some only needed to be hosed off others need to be discarded. But it was more then that, there was a three quarter inch thick layer of curdled milk on the floor of the case. All at varying degrees of water, milk, yogurt, curd, ice cream and cheese. It was vile. Whoever loaded that case and his or her supervisor need some schooling.
So no wonder the Whole store smells like garbage and decay and filth. It hits you like a punch in the face. It's a shame, because it's a relatively new building to have it impregnated with that odor is really too bad.
I worked at the old Fulton fish market in lower Manhattan for years in the eighties so I know filth and decay. ALL these years later that smell comes right back. MAGGOTS MAGGOTS MAGGOTS. SHOP ELSEWHER PLEASE.
In my opinion, the store should be sanitized professionally, and the concrete floor sealed.
Whole store smells like maggots. They must never rinse their mops, just keep spreading the germs around.
Usually pretty cold in here but they have a good selection of products in each section and have a lot of self checkout stations which is always nice.
