When I had other clients interested in services that were on the quote I looked closer and noticed a few discrepancies.
Assuming this was unusual I let it go and requested another quote for a different client going in July 2018. My reply was they weren't taking last minute requests go elsewhere. Since this was sent in August of 2017 I questioned if all of 2018 was closed and received the reply, another mistake, he thought I meant September 2017.
This company was listed as one of the vendors to use and that had been vetted and the reviews were very good.
I contacted them to price a few things for a client and received a reply with the quote right away. Impressed with the response, I glanced at the quote quickly and filed it until my client made up their minds.
Mistakes happen and employees get overwhelmed and sometimes they lose control and act unprofessionally. What was more concerning than anything is this wasn't just an employee, it was the family of the owner. In addition, the owner and someone else was copied on the email and didn't feel interested in getting involved.
The next section had the header transfer from the hotel to port with tour included. The body of the quote said the same without mentioning the tour. Since I requested this, it made sense yet when I called to reconfirm I was told ignore the header this time and believe the body of the quote.
My review isn't about the end product because I never got that far. As a travel advisor, I often arrange for services such as transportation, hotels, and tours for my clients.
Instead of apologizing for the mistake, I was told no mistake was made, it was a simple typo. (We can refer to all misquotes, mistakes that way, same difference). I was also told to take my business elsewhere, which I have.
This is the most unprofessional company I have ever worked with in over 36 years of being in the travel industry.
When I called the agent said he made a mistake on one of the quotes. The header said a transfer from a hotel to the airport but the body of the quote said pick up -hotel and drop off -ship/port.
When I expressed my concern and lack of confidence by now and questioned again my quote with the tour, my reply was outrageous.
If the management and owner of a company don't care, that means more than one person is incompetent. It says to me that this company wouldn't stand behind their product and down the road, if there was a problem, they wouldn't care. This wasn't a matter of opinion or misunderstanding. This was a clear mistake, in fact, a mistake with every aspect of my requests, each request and was documented by their own email. Something this easy for management to look at and fix or apologize and they didn't, to me, says very loud and clear who they are.
I was told, ignore the body of the quote, it was to the airport, not port.
